I’m a little ray of sunshine with a SUNSHINE AWARD

Well would you look at that. I got an award. And not just any award but an award for being inspirational. How awesome is that?

I’ve been pretty shit at doing the award thing the last few months so if you are reading this and thinking “But you didn’t accept mine” please, don’t be offended. It’s a time thing and today, I happen to have it.

A couple of weeks ago I received this beautiful Miracle Blogger Award from Brenda over at Friendly Fairytales. I was so honoured to receive this award. On the day she handed it out she decided to share it with those that are caregivers to our children. I want to include her words here as they are truly beautiful.

An award for you!

I don’t know what the protocol is for receiving repeat awards in a short space of time. Do you? I think somewhere along the line here I’ve actually given the award to someone, who has passed it on to someone else and then given it back to me!!! I love ALL awards but I also think at some point if I accept them and pass them on again in the cycle then I’m probably just being greedy. 

SO I want to say a massive thank you to The Urban Paleo Chef and Mummyshymz for both nominating me for the Leibster Award in this past week. You guys rock and I love that you love my blog. I also love your blogs so it’s a nice little mutual admiration society we have going on here.  I’m going to answer the 11 questions from both of you after I say another thank you below.

One Lovely Blog Award + An Update

Well here we are at the end of another busy week. Things have been so crazy around here so if I normally read your posts and comment and have been AWOL then that is why. I wanted to get another post out to you all on Friday but sadly it just didn’t happen. There simply wasn’t enough time.

This weekend we had 3 (yes that’s THREE) birthday parties to attend. I swear Monkey has a much better social life than I could ever hope to have. The parties were so much fun. I know some mums don’t go much on going to them all the time but I really enjoy them. Monkey absolutely loves any opportunity to get out and see his friends and it’s also fun for me to catch up with some awesome mummies too. Winning! Today we got a really special party favour from one of out birthday friends. I was so impressed and also immediately fearful about what I could whip up in a couple of weeks time. Sadly, it won’t be this good but maybe another year.

then the rest of the time I am a stay at home mum. It’s full on but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Anyway this week the work and study parts have both amped up a bit so I haven’t had the extra time I would like to be blogging. I’ve been thinking about my blogging schedule and have decided that each week I will commit to doing 2 topical posts for you guys (which basically means me banging on about whatever is going on at the time) and then there may be some of the little extras like awards (if I’m lucky enough to receive them) or those awesome postcards that turn up in my mailbox from time to time. Look out for a new one of those this week!

Damn let me tell you something about these awards…they really drive traffic to your site. Or maybe it’s just that the followers who don’t normally read your posts DO read the award posts. Who knows. Anyway I’m not complaining. It’s just an observation during this award-a-thon I’ve got going on.

I know you are going to be so sad but this is the last award in my batch. I know right! You’ll just have to keep your eyes peeled on all those blogs I recommended to see their award acceptance speeches instead of mine.

Morning fellow bloggers! It is a lovely Sunday morning here and let me just say I am feeling the love! I woke up to a stack of really awesome messages from you guys. This weekend I am spring cleaning my online activity so that means my blog too. Fitting really as it feels like spring might actually be upon us regardless of the fact that technically there is still one month of winter to go. This is one thing I adore about my location on the coast; winter here is not a long one. This spring cleaning also means I am going to get up to date with all my awards posts so sorry about that but there are a few coming.

I still love awards even if I am a bit crap at doing the homework so I make this vow to you all right here, right now, that from this day forward I will respond to all awards promptly. And promptly means within a few days of receiving them, at worst, one week.

Leibster Award

I am ashamed to say that of all the awards  I coveted this one the most. Why? I think because it was the first “blog award” that I ever saw when I started blogging regularly. Gasp, there are blog awards???? I wonder if I’ll ever get one of those. That one was awarded to the delightful Miss Fanny P who deserved it and then some (check out her blog if you don’t believe me). I ogled it and envied her and looked at how amazing and funny she was and wondered wistfully if that would ever be me.

Well rock on dudes and dudettes cause it IS ME! Yay! And not only have I been awarded this prestigious award BUT (and sit down for this) I’ve received it FIVE TIMES in the last couple of weeks. Whoah! I know, it’s amazing right. Are you still standing? Are you proud of me? Because I’m proud of me.
