Week 1 – Couch to 5k

Week 1 

Week one involves 5 min warm up walk, then 60 secs running, 90 secs brisk walk, repeated 8 times. Ends with a 5 min cool down. Stats exclude warm up and cool down (total 10 mins).

Day 1 

Overall pace: 8.7 kph

Overall distance: 2.68 km

Time: 18:30

Fastest interval: 13.6 kph

Longest interval: 0.23 km

Today wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be and I enjoyed it A LOT

Day 2 

Overall pace: 8.8 kph

Overall distance: 2.72 km

Time: 18:30

Fastest interval: 13.0 kph

Longest interval: 0.22 km

Slight improvement in overall pace and distance which pleases me. I think my running was more consistent today. There was minimal variation in the intervals.

Day 3 

Overall pace: 8.6 kph

Overall distance: 2.66 km

Time: 18:30

Fastest interval: 13.7 kph

Longest interval: 0.23 km

Feeling a bit glum as stats are actually worse this time. WTF?? I have no idea what was happening. Intervals really inconsistent too. Had one at 0.23km and then a couple at 0.19km. I’m feeling rather terrified about the next run as that is Day 1, Week 2 and requires me to run 90 secs at a time and I SO don’t feel like I am ready.
