A mailbox treat from an exotic and faraway land

This week’s awesome postcard comes to us all the way from the Philippines! While I’ve spent a lot of time in various parts of Asia I’ve never been to the Philippines so this little morsel feels oh so exotic.

Did you know that a synonym for exotic is fascinating? No, me either but it fits really as this postcard comes from the lovely and extremely fascinating Jhanis of Fascinations of a Vanilla Housewife. I really looooooooooove her blog. She is hilarious and fun and draws awesome little stick drawings with her posts. They are too cute.

Jhanis tells me that she chose this postcard because the Sinulog Festival, which it depicts, is very close to her heart.  ♥

Apparently getting this postcard sent off was quite the drama. There is a post all about it here. Read it and you will see what I mean by hilarious. While you are there also check out her recent post on google search terms and any and all of her posts in her Third World Kitchen series.

In short, she rocks so just go and check her blog. Really.

Thanks Jhanis for this smashing postcard. Hopefully I will get to see the Philippines for real one day. I was sad I didn’t get to see my note from your son. Pleeeeeeease give me a squiz now the postcard has arrived! (if anyone wants to know what that means you’ll have to go read the postcard sending drama I told you about before).

Have a great weekend everyone! And if you want to do the postcard thing too then just send me an email at mummyflyingsolo@gmail.com and I’ll get a real pretty one off to you pronto.

  1. Yay! It arrived! Thank you for the very sweet introduction though you may have exaggerated a bit on the awesomeness of my stickmen LOL I wish I can say that your postcard has arrived but I can’t, you see, our mails here are delivered via carabao so they take time to arrive hahahahah kidding aside, I’ll show you my son’s note once I get your card. Don’t worry I will march right up to the post office on monday because even Val already received the one I sent but I have not received a single one yet booo! Thanks for the nice shout out, I appreciate it much 🙂
